ASHTANGA: Traditional Indian practice Intended to be a daily routine. This powerful, healing practice is a specific sequence of postures (asanas) linking breath (pranayama) and movement (vinyasa.) Ashtanga is an athletic flow combining strength, flexibility and stamina for a complete practice. It is designed to purify the body through the breath, sweat and the movement to invoke a stillness of the mind.
Carefully designed to introduce students to this classical form of Ashtanga Yoga in a safe, supportive way. We begin with the classical breathing techniques and movements which are the core of this approach to yoga. The original sequence of Primary Series is broken down in a way that is approachable for many fitness levels, as well as providing modifications or challenges appropriate for each individual.
This class is for anyone who has the desire to learn yoga or deepen their practice. The Ashtanga sequences make it easy for students to develop a personal practice and give a fundamental understanding that can be applied to all yoga. This workshop is taught in a noncompetitive environment to students of all ages and body types.
~Some yoga experience suggested, variations will be offered for all abilities.
~Please come to class hydrated, and with an empty stomach ( no food 3 hours prior) This practice is intense and will create heat in your body, to properly cleanse your toxins you will be advised against drinking water throughout the class
