Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been in business?
We first opened our doors in 2009 in Pawley’s Island. We moved to our current location to accommodate growth and local demand.
What kind of packages/sign up fees and commitments do you require?
That’s not how we operate. We do NOT have any sign up fees, commitments, memberships or contracts. You can pay by class as you go, buy class package deals or purchase unlimited monthly class passes. It’s all up to you. We want you to work out because you want to, not because you feel like you have to because you signed a contract. We think investing in yourself is the best investment you can make.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and Discover.
What do I wear?
Easy answer, whatever you feel comfortable in. Most clients wear comfortable workout clothes….that can be anything from shorts & a tank top, workout leggings & top, sweatpants, t-shirt to your old 80’s aerobic gear. We don’t judge, just be comfortable so you can move. Proper fitting tennis shoes are a must for cardio and either barefoot or yoga socks for yoga classes.
When do passes expire?
All passes unless otherwise noted are good for 1 year from the purchase date.
What do I bring?
Bring YOU, a mat (either exercise or yoga-due to new post Corona Virus concerns), yoga blocks and straps if taking yoga and water if you like. We do offer bottled water for $1 if you forget. Lastly, bring a desire to start making positive changes in your life and encouragement for those around you, because we support each other at Wicked.
Do I need to make reservations or can I just show up?
We prefer that you reserve your class in advance however we realize that sometimes it can be spur of the moment that you are able to attend, if that’s the case, come on. We do offer several classes that do require advance registration however due to equipment restrictions, those may require a last minute phone call to determine space availability if you haven’t reserved in advance. Why reservations? Well, for one, it is beneficial to our instructors for room set up. Our space is intimate for a reason….we love to be able to see you and you see us, we like to give one on one attention when able and not have anyone feel crowded. With limited space, we need an idea how many are coming so everyone feels comfortable. Several classes utilize props, stations, and weights…we like to have those set up prior to your arrival. We do all the setting and cleaning up when possible. Don’t forget to bring your own exercise mat or yoga mat and needed props.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
As a courtesy, we would like as much notice as possible on any cancellations. You can cancel via our Mindbody scheduling system or give us a call. Mindbody accepts waiting lists for classes that sell out, if you cannot make it, it will open up that spot and notify the next person on that list. We do not charge you for cancelled visits when (phone call) notice is given within a reasonable time frame, but for sold out classes it needs to be at least 6 hours in advance to give time for others to make plans to attend otherwise you will be charged for class. We also understand that emergencies come up and sometimes you cannot give us much notice. Just give us a call and we will be happy to work with you. We don’t like to disappoint anyone, so we just ask for common courtesy on sold out classes that you call us or at least cancel within 12-24 hours online.
What are your hours of operation?
Wicked Fitness is not like any other gym. We consider ourselves a “home away from home” fitness boutique. We are only open during class times. Our instructors typically arrive 15 minutes before and stay about 15 minutes after for cleanup. If you would like to tour our facility, that can be arranged by calling us or since you can pay by class, you can always just come out and try the classes that interest you.
What should I expect?
Intimate layout, wood floors, velvet furniture, antique decor, instructors who know you by name and treat you like family. We offer a hands-on approach to helping clients reach their ultimate fitness goals. We are truly free from judgement, intimidating equipment, and we offer a support system that you won’t find anywhere else.
Does your schedule change or stay the same?
Our schedule is consistent throughout the week on a regular basis, however we are always looking to try new classes to keep it fresh and exciting. On occasion we may need to change class times to accommodate demand. We are always evaluating and listening to feedback to keep our schedule diverse in class offerings and class times that fit our client’s needs.
Do you accept refunds?
Sorry, we do not offer refunds
What if I only have 30 minutes to work out?
We can accommodate that. We offer “blast” classes….those are 30 minute classes throughout the week that target clients who don’t have time to attend the one hour classes.
How often should I work out?
According to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), clients should exercise 20 to 60 minutes, three to five days a week for health/fitness promotion (ACSM 1995).
What if I can't keep up in class?
The beauty of being part of the Wicked family and our intimate environment, our instructors can give you modifications for exercises that you have not mastered yet. Throughout any given class, we may have several clients working at all different levels. We believe everyone starts somewhere and we are just glad you started.
How do I attend one of your events?
At Wicked, we believe in mixing it up, helping you step outside your comfort zone to experience something exciting, help you achieve empowerment, or just try something different. We strive to offer a wide variety of events each month that are diverse, different, a little crazy and you probably won’t find anywhere else. You don’t even have to attend Wicked Fitness classes to attend an event. Signing up is easy, you just sign up through our website, our Mindbody scheduling system or just give us a call.
Are you instructors trained/is it safe?
Absolutely. All our instructors go through a strict training process in house for our Trademarked classes and are also trained and certified through the specific certification programs for the classes they teach. Safety has and will always be our primary concern. All our instructors are also CPR certified.
How long will it take me to lose weight?
Now, that’s a question we hear quite often. Every single person is different and it will depend on your commitment level and your nutrition. Nutrition plays a key role in weight loss. You can work out every single day and not lose weight because of what you are eating after your workout. But…there is hope….we offer a counseling service that guides you on what to eat, tracks your measurements and helps keep you accountable. We also have a wellness coach on staff with services available to help you create healthy habits.
Are men allowed?
Absolutely. We typically attract female clients because we only offer classes and don’t have open gym hours with weights and equipment, however we do encourage and have several men who come out to classes and are challenged by them. Our instructors are pretty badass and keep all of our clients challenged and producing results.
What is Wicked Healthy Kitchen?
In our fast food, rushed world, we found clients would dedicate time in class to their workouts yet stop at a fast food restaurant on the way to work or home sabotaging every bit of the work they just put in. We decided to take action. It has always been a dream of ours to open up a healthy kitchen that serves GREAT TASTING healthy food. We use organic and source locally when feasible. It’s located next door to Wicked, you don’t have to take classes to stop in….you can pick up breakfast, lunch or snacks and even order meals to go. We even host exciting food events and like to mix it up. Daily specials, promos and special tastings.
What is Wicked Women’s Network?
Click here to join Wicked Women’s Network group on Facebook
Our mission is to empower women in being their authentic self while connecting, collaborating and growing a network of women supporting one another creating a community that empowers and strengthens women in all areas of their life. We created a Facebook page where women can connect, attend events, support and encourage each other. Myrtle Beach is a transient area and let’s face it, it is hard to make friends as an adult woman. Well, we wanted to make it easier. Monthly events, group advice, conversations and encouragement happen on that page and we are all about that. Join and you will see…
